Volta Cab hails from Ulyanovsk, the beautiful Russian city on the Volga River, 893 km east from Moscow. Bringing us into the neon future, into times when the war is over and everyone in the universe loves one another in the interstellar dance to synth pop music! Finding fans & followers from the like of Horse Meat Disco, Todd Terje, Wolf & Lamb and Maurice Fulton, Volta is about to hit the big time. Already building up over the past few years an arsenal of cosmic new disco and deep house releases on a variety of international labels including Apersonal, Solar Disco (Finland), OMG Recordings and Tech Session’s (France). His finest and freshest compositions so far are featured here on his ‘Hard To Find’ EP for London’s Ism Records. The laidback summer anthem ‘Play On’ has already received heavy rotation from DJ Cosmo, Toby Tobias and Ashley Beedle and shows Volta’s true love of the beatdown house vibe. Also a big fan of Hercules and Love Affair, Linkwood , Tensnake, Flying Lotus, this clear from the dynamic string led ‘He’s A Bad Motha’. This was the track originally sent to Yam Who? and they jumped at the chance to remix it into an a slamming uptempo Saturday night floorstomper. The EP’s title track ‘Hard To Find’ is a slow burning deep house dreamscape. Volta grew up listening to the sounds of Blue Six, Roy Davis Junior and Chez Damier and this is evident in a lot of recent productions. Variety is always the key word with the Russian maestro and quite evident in the final joint ‘Magic In Your Eyes’.
